Overhead Crane Practice Test

The main components of an overhead crane include the bridge, runway, and trolley, all of which play critical roles in the crane's operation. The bridge spans the distance across the work area and supports the trolley that moves along it. The runway provides the tracks or path along which the crane moves, enabling it to traverse the designated area for lifting and transporting loads.

A hydraulic pump, while important in some types of lifting systems, is not a core component of a standard overhead crane. Overhead cranes can operate using various mechanisms, including electric drives or manual controls, but they do not inherently require a hydraulic pump as part of their essential design.
